I had a Lymphatic Malformation that was removed form my neck in June of 2008. The doctors said it was just an enlarged gland but everyone got a big surprise.
This page will break down exactly what pathology told my mom and dad it was called. At first you may be confused but mom will do her best to put it is layman's terms for everyone to understand. Stay tuned for more info.

I had a surgery to remove a gland in my neck on June 11, 2008. My parents were told that it was an enlarged lymph gland from a previous cold or illness and that it was nothing to worry about. But they soon found out otherwise. When the mass was removed it measured 2.5x2x1 cm. The mass was strange in appearance and was solid. It was then sent to the mayo clinic for further evaluation. It took 3 weeks to get the results back (after 3 pathologists looked at it). The results were very confusing to everyone.
"Benign reactive follicular and paracorticular lymphoid hyperplasia with associated ectatic lymphatic vessels." Now your guess is as good as mine as to what it means. Mom will do her best to try and explain it so that everyone will understand better.
