MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hi everybody.  We hope you had a good Christmas, we did.  Well I just wanted to touch base and let everyone know what we are looking at over the next few months.  We are going to have some appointments but, not to many.  We can handle it.

In January we have to get David's quarterly Ultrasound and AFP levels done.  We also have to get an MRI of his spine to check for possible Scoliosis.  He was showing possible signs at 3 months old and we are supposed to get it monitored to make sure it doesn't get worse.  We are also scheduled for a Conference appointment with Boston Children's Hospital for the end of the month.  At this appt. all the Doctors necessary to evaluate David conditions will be present to decide what steps to take and what tests are needed.  At this time they will also let us know when to plan on bringing him up there for an appoinment.

In February we are going to the Dermatologist on the 12th.  We also go into the Pediatrician for an 18 month check-up.

At this time we have nothing planned for March.  We will know more as we hear from Boston, hopefully we will get in this month.  We will make sure to keep everyone posted on how things are going and any other appointments that pop up.

Again Merry Christmas and we hope everyone has a Happy New Year.

David's Ultrasound on his Back.

Hey.  Everything went good with the Ultrasound yesterday afternoon.  David was a little champ.  He sat in mommy's lap and let the tech do what she needed to.  The radiologist came in after looking at the films and did some looking of his own.  He said it appears to be an overgrowth of tissue.  There is no apparent reason for this but he does know that it is not something that is caused by the Klippel-Tranaunay.  However, he could not tell me what could be causing this.  As we find out more of what his doctor wants to do, if anything, I will let you know.  His Dermatologist has a Pediatric Radiologist that she is going to have look over the Ultrasound to see what his opinions are.  Hopefully someone will be able to tell us what this lump is and what could be causing it.

On a good note it is putting no pressure on his muscles or his spine.  It is just under the skin and appears to be causing no problems at this time.  So there is nothing immediate for us to worry about.

15 Month Check-up

Posted by David Seveland at 08:38 PM on December 02, 2007 Comments comments (0)
Hey,  I just wanted to inform everyone that David  had his 15 month check-up on November 26, 2007.  He measured in as a really big boy.  His length is 34 1/2" on his left side and 33 3/4" on his right.  The doctors use the left for his charts.  He weighed 30lbs 10oz.  He is still off the charts at about the 105-110 percentile.  Everything checked out good at his appointment, he is right on target.
We found a bump on his back about a week earlier and it hasn't gone away yet.  Because of this, his doctor is scheduling an Ultra-Sound(U/S) to see what it is.  We are hoping it is just a fatty mass and nothing more.  It is about 2 1/2 inches wide and about 1 1/2 inches high.  It crosses his spine but is not centered on it.  We have the U/S on Tuesday, December 4th at 2:30p.m.  I will let you guys know what they find.
